1. Introduction

MKD Co., Ltd. ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you access or use our Keural AI platform and related services (collectively, the "Service").

This Policy complies with the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) of the Republic of Korea and other applicable privacy regulations. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described herein.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Required: Email address, password, name (or display name)
  • Optional: Phone number, organization name, job title
  • Business customers (B2B): Contact name, company name, business registration number, billing address

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • IP address, browser type, operating system version
  • Cookies and session identifiers
  • Access logs, pages visited, features used
  • API call records and usage metrics

2.3 Content You Generate

We collect inputs, prompts, and outputs you generate through the Service to provide and improve the Service, subject to the limits described below.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  1. Service Provision & Operations: Account creation and management, user authentication, and delivery of requested features.
  2. Customer Support: Responding to inquiries, resolving complaints, and sending service announcements.
  3. Service Improvement: Improving AI model performance, analyzing usage patterns, and enhancing service quality.
  4. Marketing & Communications: Sending news about new features or events (with your separate consent where required).
  5. Legal Compliance: Fulfilling obligations under applicable laws and responding to lawful government requests.

4. Retention of Personal Information

  1. We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
  2. Specific retention periods:
    • Account information: Deleted upon account termination (subject to legal holds)
    • Service usage logs: 1 year
    • Transaction records (e-commerce): 5 years (Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
    • Payment records: 5 years (same law)
    • Consumer dispute records: 3 years (same law)

5. Sharing of Personal Information

  1. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
  2. We do not share your personal information with third parties beyond what is described in this Policy, except in the following circumstances:
    • When required by applicable law or to comply with legal obligations;
    • When necessary to protect the vital interests of you or a third party;
    • In response to lawful requests from government authorities (e.g., court orders, law enforcement requests).
  3. We may share information with service providers who perform processing on our behalf (see Section 6 below).

6. Third-Party Processing (Entrustment)

  1. To operate the Service, we may entrust certain processing tasks to third-party providers. We disclose the identity of such providers and the scope of processing in our service agreements with them.
  2. We contractually require all processors to handle personal information securely and in accordance with applicable law, and we supervise their compliance.
  3. Any changes to our processors will be reflected in an updated version of this Policy.

7. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

  1. Right of access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  2. Right to correction: You may request that inaccurate information be corrected.
  3. Right to deletion: You may request that we delete your personal information, except where retention is required by law.
  4. Right to restrict processing: You may request that we suspend certain processing of your information.

8. Data Deletion

  1. When personal information is no longer necessary (retention period expired or purpose fulfilled), we will delete or anonymize it without undue delay.
  2. Deletion methods:
    • Electronic files: Permanently and irreversibly deleted using technical measures
    • Paper records: Shredded or incinerated

9. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

  1. Administrative: Minimizing access to personal information, regular staff training, internal audits
  2. Technical: Access control, encryption of sensitive identifiers, security software, TLS/SSL encryption for data in transit
  3. Physical: Restricted access to server rooms and data storage facilities

10. Cookies

  1. We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience and collect usage data.
  2. Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They enable us to remember your preferences and improve the Service.
  3. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences. Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Service.

12. Changes to This Policy

  1. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law.
  2. We will notify you of material changes at least 7 days in advance (or 30 days in advance if the changes are materially unfavorable to you) by posting notice within the Service.
  3. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
